Magazine Extension

Here is how the magazines looks when locked and loaded in the .45 Caliber Beretta CX4 Storm Carbine, adding an additional 2 rounds to the stock 8 round magazine. Robin Taylor of Taylor Freelance (www.taylorfreelance.com) responded to my query on the same day and instructed me on a solution

I have made a short video of the installing of the magazine extent ions for the 45 caliber.(here)

Test of the conversion to the 2 Plus Extension.,

After loading the converted stock Cougar 8000 mag with 10 rounds, we loaded 1 in the chamber so we could fire all 10 rounds plus 1.

Here is the result.

All 10 rounds fed perfectly and 11 rounds were fired without a jam or ms-load

Review of the modification

The springs in the stock Cx4 .45 caliber magazine in my case were extremely stiff. I had a very hard time loading them with 7 rounds and never could get the 8th round in the clip.

Others in the Forum have had the same issue and the best advise is that they will loosen with use.

After installing the extension I can now easily load 10 rounds.

The Extension gives you 2 additional rounds to add to the capacity for a total of 10. With 1 in the chamber you can have an eleven shot string available.

The Extension is very easy to install but does require a little tweaking of the locking plate. No modification to the Beretta CX 4 Carbine is required what so ever.

Magazine fits the weapon very well and after cycling a clip full of cartridges. I had no jams or ms-feeds.

Other Options

I found that Promag makes a 9 round magazine for the CX4 Storm. I suggest you go to their web site and get the part numbers and search the web for a better deal. Midway America has the lowest price that I have found. Impact Guns has them also.

I hope other .45 Caliber CX4 Storm owners find this helpful if you are looking for extra magazines or higher capacity mag's.
